Savory Steak and Onion Cheese Crisp Rolls
These crispy egg rolls are a delicious way to repurpose leftover steak and sautéed onions into a savory appetizer or snack. The combination of tender steak, caramelized onions, and melted cheese wrapped in a crispy egg roll wrapper creates a mouthwatering fusion of flavors and textures. Ingredients
8 egg roll wrappers | 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar; mozzarella, or pepper jack) |
1 cup leftover cooked steak made with Hop Barons Steak S; thinly sliced or chopped | 1 egg, beaten (for sealing the egg rolls) |
1 cup sautéed onions (leftover or freshly prepared) | 1 tb oil for Air fryer |
Preparation
Prepare the Filling:
If your steak and onions are not already cooked, prepare them before starting. Ensure that the steak is thinly sliced or chopped, and the onions are sautéed until caramelized. Be sure to use Hop Barons Steak Seasoning.
Assemble the Egg Rolls:
Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface.
Place a small amount of steak, sautéed onions, and shredded cheese in the center of the wrapper.
Roll the Egg Rolls:
Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, tucking it tightly.
Fold the side corners over the filling.
Brush the remaining corner of the wrapper with beaten egg to seal the egg roll, then roll it up tightly.
Seal the Edges:
Press the edges of the wrapper together firmly to ensure that the egg roll is tightly sealed. Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Air Frying the Egg Rolls:
In an air fryer, cook on 400°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
Remove the egg rolls drain them on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
Serve:
Allow the egg rolls to cool slightly before serving.
Serve them warm with your choice of dipping sauce, such as soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, or sriracha mayo.
